Probe into the soul of a lifetime scout

The thesis gives a perspective on life seen through the Scout's eyes. It deals with the life and the thinking of the people who were or have been active members of this movement. The practical part of the thesis focuses, through eight narrative interviews, on the experience of the Scout movement members and the subjective purpose of their own experience throughout their life. It describes as well what these individuals have found within the movement, what they have identified or conversely disagreed with and what values and approaches they prefer in their lives. The practical part seeks the essence of something that a Scout's soul is comprised of, it means, what makes a Scout a Scout. The analysis of individual interviews exposed several topics and subtopics, where the correlation between them was examined. These topics turned into a syllabus or basis for the theoretical part, where it was described and clarified to the reader with the help of the reference literature.

Old age, mortality and the meaning of life

The bachelor thesis focuses on old age as a period of balancing lived life and accepting one's own finiteness. The themes of old age, mortality and the meaning of life are put in the theoretical and research part of the thesis into mutual context. Using in-depth interviews with individuals living in a selected home for the elderly, the practical part focuses on mapping their assessment of life and finding meaning in it, accepting life in a home for the elderly and relating these seniors to their own mortality. The selected seniors evaluate their lives positively and perceive them as meaningful. The main sources of meaning in life is primarily relationships and a particular society. The home for the elderly is perceived by the respondents as a place to live and some sort of liberation. Going to this institution is mostly taken positively and the seniors are satisfied there. The selected seniors do not think about death and are reconciled to their mortality. They see death as the logical end of life, of which they have no fear. However, there is a fear of dying and a wish not to be a burden to others.

The meaning of life of children living in a children's home

Theoretical part focuses on children's Home as an institution and on social work in children's Home. It describes possible causes for placing children in constitutional care and socially-legal children protection. It also describes family and related di- sorders of parenthood and families. It's mentioned here the meaning of life and questions about the purpose of existence as viewed by Viktor E. Frankl. The theore- tical part characterizes working in direct client care and children age categories, es- pecially preschool age, school age and adolescence. The deprivation of child related to placement in children's home is also described at the end of theoretical part. Practical part concentrates on qualitative research with the goal of mapping ideas of children about life from the view of caretakers. It processes structured inter- views with open questions of four participants, then it separates the children ideas into age groups, where the reader can even see how the ideas have evolved with age.

Perception of the meaning of life by middle-aged people, "middle-aged crisis"

The thesis is focused on the issue of the perception of the meaning of life in the middle-aged generation, which tends to be characterised by a 'mid-life crisis'. The term is often associated with negative phenomena such as physical ageing, career stagnation, marriage boredom and the general stereotype of life. Here, the importance of logotherapy, which helps us to find meaning in life, helps us to communicate in social work, e.g. existential loneliness and loss of purpose in life, is precisely important. The work is drawn up interdisciplinarily on the basis of professional literature, mapping the concept of middle age from the point of view of various authors, the field of change, decision-making and the meaning of the so-called transition period, when one finds oneself between something that one was and something that one will be. From a philosophical and psychological point of view, the work is focused on the search for the meaning of life. Attention is also given to basic concepts and theoretical approaches relating to the meaning of life, with the aspect placed on human goals, life values, motivation, the value of health, the value of love, happiness, life as a calling. The aim of the thesis is to map how the period and meaning of life for the middle-aged generation (described as the "midlife crisis") is perceived from the perspective of the disciplines of science. Indicate options of solutions and promote personal satisfaction in the midlife crisis, hint at options to prevent the negative consequences associated with entering the second half of life. To show that, even at this stage in life, one can perceive and embrace the meaning of life in a positive way and live a happy and full life.

Education for the Search of the Meaning of Life in Scouting

The thisis deals with the question of the meaning of life. With the help of the scholastic disciplines of filosophy, theology, psychology and pedagogy, it tries to point out the importance of this problem. The key moment in which these question aries is at the time of adolescence, when the young person is sufficiently ready to deal with the question of the meaning of life. However, an adolescent needs competent guidance to help him develop in right way and find the appropriate answers. Taking the Scouts Movement as an example, the thesis aims to show that this free time organization helps provide young peoplewith a set of walues. Scouting is aware of its responsibility in searching higher values in life and in answering the questions about the sense of life.

Environmental starting points of the philosophy of hope

The text explains the phenomenon of hope from a phenomenological point of view, i tis an explanation of hope and its understanding in the context of human live. We know hope from a Christian perspective, such as salvation salvation, forgiveness, hope for eternal life. In the postmodern age, human existence has changed and hope needs to be thought through in new contexts. The question arises as to what is really hope. Althought it does not seem important, understanding hope and distinguising it is a condition of well-being of the individual and society. Hope must not be an illusion or a mere daily hope of fulfilling our wishes. Hope is above all action, it is not surrender and resignation. True, transcendent hope is born in deep crisis, pain, abandonment, it comes to us in patience, in the act of acceptance, reconciliation. Hope is an awareness of the future in spite of reality. Hope is perseverance, humility and mystery. Hope is joy, it is a force that comes to us from an unidentifiable place, but it spreads everywhere. Hope also relates to the existence of the whole world, to the responsibility for maintaining the conditions of life on Earth, to the dignified and fully lived life of individuals. Influence of spirituality over death attitudes

Bc. Monika Pavelková ABSTRACT The aim of the paper is to study closely the influence of spirituality on attitude towards death among people who find themselves in a situation of proximity to death. Due to the fact that spirituality proves to be a significant factor influencing the process of accepting death, increasing attention is paid nowadays to the spiritual component of personality and to saturation of its spiritual needs. Spirituality is understood in a broader sense as relation towards sanctity of either a religious or an irreligious person. Another aspect is the means by which the person comes to terms with own spirituality, whether it is intrinsic and becomes the goal of the person's life-long endeavour, or it can be described as extrinsic because it does not permeate his or her everyday reality. Spiritual orientation of a person is projected into his or her values and goals, it determines the way towards the meaning of life, which exceeds the person proper. V. E. Frankl speaks about reaching the meaning of life through self- transcendence by way of realization of values of creation, experiences and attitudes. Integration of older people into school education

The bachelor thesis explains the need for mutual meetings of old and young people. It also explores whether the school is an appropriate environment for such meetings. To justify the seriousness of the whole issue, the thesis is put into a broader context (philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical). The author discovers the main reason to integrate older people into an environment for young people is a common opportunity for both ages to find the meaning of life and the way to its fulfillment. He considers the integration of old people to be an opportunity for the school management to ensure greater efficiency and quality. The thesis is divided into three chapters: The need for the integration, Issues of old age and Integration of old people.

This Bachelor's pursuit discusses the Burnout syndrome of a nurse on intensive care ward. It shows why the enthusiasm of a young nurse disappears so fast although she has the spark to start with. In the theoretical part the Burnout syndrome is defined, the cause of emergence, its stages, the utterences and prevention. The base of the empirical part stands on the quntitative research of the permanent exhaustion of the medical staff. It refers to the connection between the Burnout syndrome and the working environment, interpersonal relationships and private life of an ordinary nurse. In the research samples are nurses, working on five different wards within one hospital in Prague. The research was done through two different questionnaires: standardized and half- structured.
